If a white kid is innocently shot down by a gunman…where’s our huge news coverage? Where’s our community wearing hoodies for us? Where’s Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? So much for equality.

you guys I found the funniest kid on tumblr

LITERALLY off the top of my head I can name five white people who got media firestorms surrounding their deaths. Caylee Anthony. Natalee Holloway. Jonbenet Ramsey. Elizabeth Smart (ETA: she was not murdered, but her kidnapping was very well-covered by the media). Laci Peterson. There is literally a name for that when it happens. Remember the Justice for Caylee thing? How Nancy Grace dedicated her entire show for weeks at a time to it? The candle vigils? We do plenty when we feel a white person has been unjustly murdered. Name another Black person who was gunned down in a racially motivated incident. Give me their name. Without Googling. Show me that hashtag, and that huge news coverage. Oh right you probably can’t because the media generally ignores it when non-white people die.

“So much for equality” shut the hell up, you don’t even know what you’re talking about.

I love how White people always say “Where’s Jackson and Sharpton when it happens to us?” People who say that clearly don’t interact with many Black people if they think the entire Black community rallies behind the two of them. ughhh my people, my people. We gotta start doing better.
